Smoke Alarm Legislation Changes

Smoke alarm image

Owner occupiers

Did you know Owner occupiers must install interconnected smoke alarms by 2027.

When one goes off, they all go off, giving everyone extra time to escape.

Don’t leave it to the last minute. You could save a life.

Selling or Leasing

If you are selling a property and enter into a contract of sale after 31 December 2021, then you must comply with the new legislation requirements.

Landlords must ensure that, from 1 January 2022, at the commencement of a new lease or lease renewal, dwellings/units meet the requirements of the  legislation.
